International Day of Climate Awareness Observed at UMF
November 3rd, 2009

UMF recently joined citizens and non-profit groups in Farmington and around the world on 350 Day to bring attention to the problem of climate change. 350 Day is part of a campaign to create global solutions to limit the carbon in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million. According to the Daily Bulldog, events held on campus and throughout the community focused on combating climate change, reducing energy usage, improving energy efficiency and celebrating the natural riches of Maine. All events were free and open to the public and included: a workshop on home weatherization, electronics and ewaste recycling, a conservation fair and tours of the UMF LEED silver certified Education Center.
